Rockeresque Beauty Co. Review and Swatches

I received some pigments and samples from Rockeresque awhile ago to review and after some lengthy testing (and quite a bit of procrastination on my part, lol.) I'm finally ready to share my thoughts.

What I got: I received 2 full sized pigments in Little Lamb and Gloom Cloud, 5 samples in Peppermint Gummybear, Chicklet, Schoolyard Crush, Lower East Side, an un-released color Ruby Doo. I also received 2 business cards, and a super cute little pin.

See the size of the sample you get? And that baggie is pretty full!

                                                                         Little Lamb
                                                    Gloom Cloud *sooo NOT gloomy!!!*

Initial thoughts: I was pretty impressed with the packaging. There's pretty tissue paper in the box when you first open it. Each full size product is in a 5 gram jar with a sifter, they are shrink wrapped AND have a sticker over the sifter so you won't lose any product or end up with a mess during shipping. I love the fact that the sifter sticker has a little pull tab so you can get the sucker off easily! The company logo is on the top of the jar, and the name of the color, ingredients, website, and a whole slew of other important information is on a sticker on the bottom. I was also impressed to see this little informational sticker also on their samples. But all that info can be like a double rainbow, WHAT DOES IT MEAN!!!?!? Don't fret my pet! On their website they have a whole description of what all of this information is for and why it's there. http://www.rockeresque.com/http://www.rockeresque.com/www.rockeresque.com/cosmeticscorner

Color Payoff, Blendability, Staying Power
: Most loose eyeshadows I've tried (and I've tried a LOT!) have great color payoff and Rockeresque is no exception. The colors are vibrant and beautiful, they work well over a primer, they work well over a white base, and they work well foiled. So whatever your preferred method of using loose pigments might be, they will definitely work for you. And they blend like a dream! Which is a major issue for me when it comes to loose eyeshadows, some of them are pigmented well but you can't get them to blend to save your life! When you try you end up with patches of rubbed off pigment and it looks gross. I have NOT noticed this issue with Rockeresque loose shadows. With a primer or base these puppies won't budge or crease. I was able to wear mine for a solid 8-10 hours without any issues. They remove easily with makeup remover without staining your lids!  (bonus points for that)

Price and Availability: Each 5g jar is $6.00. Or you can buy 5 get 1 free. And pigment samples are $1.00. The awesome thing about buying samples is they have this spend $1.00 ships for $1.00 program! Which is a great deal if you're just dipping your toes into using loose eyeshadows for the first time. *don't actually dip your toes in them, you'll just be wasting your precious shadows* As far as I can tell on the website if the color is available it is listed, if not then it's not on their. Easy peasy, right? Certain collections are up on the website for limited amounts of time, but if you sign up for the snazzy little newsletter thing that get's emailed to you, you can feel all special being one of the first to hear about special deals, offers, and limited edition collections!

Favorites: Gloom Cloud, Schoolyard Crush, Little Lamb, Lower East Side, Peppermint Gummybear.

Overview:  Aside from an apparent lack of matte shades *most shades are satin, some, like Lower East Side do contain some chunky glitter which does cause a little bit of fallout.*  The price is right, the product is awesome, their customer service can't be beat. It's one of those companies, you can just tell, wasn't thrown together overnight. A lot of thought went into everything from the website design, to the logo design, to the packaging, business cards, and information provided to customers. I would definitely recommend shopping there!
